1. Introduction

Crc16 is a DOS utility, which calculates a 16 bit cyclic redundancy check on any DOS file. The Crc16 has a length of about 65000, so if the CRC of two files match, you can be pretty sure that the files are indeed identical.

If you have previously calculated and saved the CRC, it can serve as proof that the file has not been changed or damaged.

2. Usage

Calculate a 16 bit cyclic redundancy check on a file.

Example:

crc16 filename
